Engagement Party

My mom has had a bad year and my brother had a baby this past year and thats all she seems to be able to do these days. I've ask her a few times about throwing an engagement party, I know the weddings still 7 months away but I'd like to go ahead and get it out of the way. Would it be okay to throw ourselves an engagement party???

I would say go ahead and throw one yourselves. I wish we had since nobody ever threw us one.

We organised and paid for our engagement party. there wouldn't have been one if we hadn't done it ourselves. cost a bit but we had it years before we got married!

Its your engagement of course you can throw your own party. This is a way to get everyone together and comfortable with each other before the formalities of the wedding.

Well, we finally set a date to have our engagement party...its May 26th, 2007....yah!!!!!
