My officiant is my grandmother's pastor and I asked him how much and he didn't reply. I asked my grandmother she said to call when he on vacation and ask a lady in the office.

Well of course with the other milions of things i got to do i forgot so I thought i would ask here.....

It is a baptist church and we are having a simple ceremony... what do you think?

We just gave him $50 since they didn't request anything. When DH gave him the check, he said that we didn't have to give anything, but he did accept the money.

We paid $300, but that included a custom ceremony, not just the officiating.

We are paying $425 for everything. Rental of the entire church, the pastor, the sound guy, and janitor fee. We are also not members of the church so that's what made it so expensive.

Our church charges a $200 donation and we will probably give the priest some money, but not sure how much. My church wanted $350, which I thought was a lot, but we were going with Steve's chuch anyway.

We paid $250 for ours. He used to be our pastor at our church but retired a few years after we started dating.

yeah if you are getting married in the Catholic church. If not it's called an officiant because not all marriages are religious- or it could be a minister/rabbi, etc

For our church, we are paying $375 for the church, priest, and music director, then $15 for each of the 3 altar boys. So $420 total!

Basically the officiant is any person (w/ or w/o a title) that will be pronouncing you husband and wife and who's name will be on the license with yours and your hubby's.
