Ewa's Immigration Interview this Morning

Hey Everyone!

Chad and I have our immigration interview this morning at 10:00am in downtown Portland. I'm so worried and nervous, but I'm sure everything is ok. Our lawyer is meeting us there. I'm bringing pics of Chad and I over the years, our wedding pics, our house papers, car papers, utility bills, greeting cards that Chad had ever given me, etc to substantiate our relationship and to prove that we have everything in both of our names.

Wish us luck! Hopefully at the end of all of this I will have a "Green Card" stamped on my passport.

Hey Everyone!

Thank you for all of your Good Luck Wishes.

Our interview went well this morning. We had a super nice immigration officer, so that was helpful. Our lawyer was also present...it just gave me a piece of mind him being there. They just asked me about my name, birthdate, current address, wedding date, how I met Chad, etc. They asked Chad about his work, how much he makes, when we got engaged, etc. I had all of the necessary paperwork with me along with albums, pictures, cards, etc, but they didn't even care or ask to see them. The only thing they asked of us is our passports and they made sure our drivers' lisences had our current and the same address on them. We also had to show proof of joint things (ie. joint bank account, a car in both of our names, our house in both of our names, utility bills, health insurance, etc).

I got my passport stamped with "Green Card Authorized" and she said that the physical green card should come in the mail in about 2-3 weeks time. I told them that we are going on our honeymoon next week, and she said that the stamp on my passport will suffice and not to worry.

Half my stress is gone!
