the Official Marriage License

For all you married ladies.....

About how long was it until you recieved your signed official license? I thought for sure mine would come in the mail by now. I am so eager to change all my credit cards, licenses, ect., but I need the certificate to do it!

I'm not sure how it works where you live but we got an extra copy of the license that had an written marriage certificate type thing underneath the license part. The pastor filled out one sheet and sent it in and we got another one to keep that he filled out that I've been using to change over everything to my new last name. I've already done my license, today I'm going to the social security office and then to the bank, I've already got everyhing switched over at work too.

I'm not sure when we'll get the official certificate, we still have to send in the form to get the certified copies, but it will probably take a month or so maybe?

We never got anything from the state...just from the church. My understanding is that you have to go and get certified copies of your marriage license.

In our county, the priest or whoever marries you sends it in and after 2 weeks we have to go to the county building and go pick up our copies (and pay for it). We got married June 16th, I went and paid for our copies around July 1st. Then went to SSA on July 12th.

I actually had my marriage certificate by the time I got home from my honeymoon.

We got ours soooo fast. We were married on Saturday and it was in the mail Tuesday.

I just got mine last week. so it took about a month but it depends on where you live

We signed the one copy at the ceremony that we're supposed to keep, but we didn't have anywhere to put it, so the officiant took it and said she would mail it to us. I guess I need to call her and find out where the heck it is, so i can complete all the name changes! :)
I live in WA state and I guess it will probably take a month, so I have about another week or 2 to still get it.

After the ceremony, my dad took it down to the County Clerk and they gave him the real one right there. When we got back from our Honeymoon everything was ready to go. I got my name changed and every card changed within 2 weeks

Canada...

In Ontario you have to wait about 13 weeks after wedding to apply online to get your "official marriage certificate" which the Ministry accepts to change your drivers license...

I lucked out two days after our wedding and took our record of soleminization which was given to us by the minister after the wedding and got my drivers license changed and changed everything else that week...
