have you gotten gifts or cards from people who didn't get invitations to your wedding? i'm just curious b/c i have heard people say that they've gotten cards or registry gifts from coworkers or distant relatives who may not have gotten invitations but heard about the wedding. i was just wondering if that is common or not?

It is common for those that are not necessarily invited to get your cards or even gifts. Most times they will ask family or friends of the bride and groom where they are registered. Some people just feel like being nice and buying you a card or a gift. We got a number of gifts from people we didn't invite to the wedding as well as cards.

we received many cards and gifts from people who were not invited...we send them thank you cards...

i guess it is common, i have sent gifts or money or cards to wedding couples who never invited me...
