As you can see from my avatar, my bday is coming up. Yay! Well, my family & friends kept asking me what I wanted, but apparently, "Nothing" is not a good enough answer. :p So someone suggested we start on our registry (Yeah I know...we have 20 MONTHS til the wedding. Lol.) & they all said they would buy us stuff from it for holidays & special occassions. I'm 22 & my immediate family, extended family, and future in-laws still buy me presents for every occassion. Lol. It's sweet.

A couple weekends ago, FH & I went to the movies in the morning (it's so much cheaper than going at night), and afterwards he says, "I don't want to bring you home. I want to spend all day with you." It made my heart melt. He asked, "What if we go to BBB & work on our registry?" That made my heart melt even more!! :D I NEVER pass up an opportunity to go to BBB b/c it's one of my fav stores. So we went & had a blast! :)

Yesterday, FH was showing his co-worker something off the registy & noticed that the dinnerware set we requested 3 sets of was fulfilled. Not only that, but someone bought a 4th one! Oh & the price went up to $60 from $45 in 2 days. First of all, how is it possible to buy more than the requested number?? Wouldn't the person see that it says FULFILLED next to it?

So for all of you who had/have a BBB registry...do I just go to the store with the 4th set & tell them that we got one too many? Is it just that easy to return something from the registry?

yup! it's that easy. Just bring it back, tell them it's on your registry and they will either give you credit for the store or cash back. your registry is your receipt :D i love BBB

Thanks! I was just wondering if it'd be that easy b/c I've heard that Target is a mess when returning items. We were thinking that we'd bring it back & get something else that's on our registry. :)

yeah - Target is a mess. As long as you have the gift receipt, it's fine. But if you don't, you can only return 1 item per year (and have to have ID). it's crazy

That is so crazy!!! Most people don't give the bride & groom a gift receipt with their gift(s). What a mess!

I also heard that if you return a gift that's from the let's say "bedding" section, you have to get something from the bedding section...you can't return it & get something from the kitchen section. I don't know how true that is, but I wouldn't want to deal with that.

We had a registry at Target and it seemed to work out fine...but my guests gave my gift receipts, so I was ok....so long my item was purchased from my registry.

That's good that they gave you gift receipts. I've actually never given one but now I know that if I buy something for someone off their Target registry, I'd better make sure to give it to them.

Spring would be a great time to come here b/c the weather is pretty nice. I haven't been to Orlando in about 8 years & who knows when I'll go again.

Is it true that you can use BBB coupons at Linens-N-Things?? I recall someone mentioning that to me, but I can't remember who.

We used BBB as one of our registry. I was actually able to register for my China on BBB. I still have it. I tell everyone for either holidays or bdays to use my registrys for gifts.

Does that work well?

You know I'm getting married in June. I wasn't planning on doing our registry until March. Maybe I will reconsider due to the holidays approaching. I was going to register at Linen N Things and Target. There isn't really many choices here were I live!! Maybe we'll just register at Linen N Things for now!! Hmmm....

Did you see the previous posts about Target? If you don't get gift receipts, it's kind of a hassle to return items. Linens-N-Things is a good choice. They have alot of similar things that BBB has.

I registered at LNT, Target, and JCP. LNT and JCP wasn't bad. Target wasn' bad, but that was before they changed the rules. What was it, any wedding before Aug. 1st was allowed to use their registry when returning items, w/ or w/o a reciept. But if you get items from Target and it's on a registry, call the manager and they might be able to over ride it if you don't have the reciept.

The only thing that ticked me off with Target, is that your registries are supposed to be active for 1 year from your wedding date and ours is already down.

We really don't have much here. We have Target, Linen N Things, Macy and Wal-Mart. Really, I think that's it! Don't want to do too much online because alot of my family is not really into the computer thing!!

I read somewhere that its only active up to 90 days after the wedding. That's another thing that turned me off about Target.

I love Macy's! They have ALOT of great things. We wanted to register there, but it was heavily damaged from Hurricane Katrina. Now, they're talking about building 2 of them. Who knows when that'll happen though.

I only went there b/c I LOVE Target. Walmart, Kmart, and Meijer are so unorganized, you can never fid anything in them.

I love Macy's!
We originally ergistered at Macy's for some china and what not, but at the time we registered it was still Marshall Field's and I guess when Macy's took over Field's, they screwed up all the registeries and we got a $80 Orefors candy dish in the mail as an appology.

Kohls was the WORST registry to deal with. I ended up calling them yelling at them and told them to cancel my registry. EVERYTIME I went to log in and add stuff (whether at the store or online), I kept being told "invalid password". Umm... Ok...? I had the same password for all my registries. I was so irritated. I think I called them 3 times to havethem reset my password before I went off and told them to cancel the registry.

I've heard that about Kohl's from other people. I don't think we have one around here, but I see all the commercials on tv.

I swear by BBB. They help register, they do most of it for you if you want them too. You dont need any receipts, your registry is your receipt. Also it takes a long time for your registry to expire! Some of my family went off that for my birthday so they knew what to get me (stuff that we didnt get from the wedding) and my parents and out of town relatives told us to just add things from it for christmas so it works GREAT!! :-D

Thanks Fonda! I think my family is going to continue buying us things for holidays & occassions after the wedding, and that makes me excited. :D
