Jacob and I have known each other for our entires lives. We were next door neighbors from birth to high school. I wish I could say that we always liked each other, but the truth is we HATED each other with a passion growing up. I thought he was a stuck up, arrogant, SOB and he thought I was the worlds biggest B!tch. We tormented each other on a daily basis. (I was better at it :P )
After high school we went our seperate ways, me to college, him out in the workforce. It wasnt until my parents funeral back in 2002 did we see each other again. Honestly I hadnt even known it was him when he walked in the door. It wasnt until he came up to me to pay his respects did I even know it was him. After the funeral we didnt see each other for another year.
In 2003 my friends set me up on a blind date. How they convinced me, I may never know, but I thank God that they did. Me and my "blind date" were supposed to meet at 7:00 at the restaurant. I was there ten minutes early and he came ten minutes late. When I saw it was Jacob I was just in shock. I did not to be near him for five minutes let alone for a whole dinner! But before I could make my escape and go kill my friends, Jacob spotted me and I swear the little frown on his face turned into a huge one. That right there p!issed me off. I just turned around in my seat.
When he came to the table I was at he said to me, with the frown still in place, "So your my blind date huh.?" he looked me over and said, "eh, could be worse." O.M.G. My mouth just dropped open. I could NOT believe he had the balls to say that. AND THEN when I didnt say anything, he just smirked at me and said, "Babe, close your mouth. Your giving me ideas."
At that point I had enough. I was about to give him a piece of my mind, but his face soften and he laughed a little. "Calm down Babe. I was just seeing if you changed. You still have the same old fight in you from back in the day. You actually gave me a run for my money back then. I think that was the only thing I ever liked about you as a kid." And me being the smart as that I am said "Yeah well there was nothing about you that I liked as a kid." After that we got to talking, more like arguing, about the things we did as kids. But surprisingly before we knew it, the restaurant was closing so we decided to leave before we got kicked out.
Before we went our seperate ways at night, he gave me his phone number and told me to call him, for a date or just to hang out. Right before I got into my car he took my arm and turned me to face him and said, "By the ways....You look beautiful." The way his face softened and looked when he said that clinched it. I was gonna call him. We have been going out ever since. About 3 years after we officially started going out, I got pregnant.
When I told Jacob about the baby, he immediatly asked me to marry him. And I immediatly told him HELL NO. We got into this huge fight about it but I eventually convinced him that althought we loved each other, I didnt want to get married just because I got pregnant, and that I will marry him someday but I want him to ask me when I least expect it and not because we have a child together, but becuase he wanted "to spend the rest of his life growing saggy with me." We both laughed so hard when I said that :) But he did promise to make it special and when we were both ready.
On 3/24/07 our precious baby Anothony Jacob was born.
This same year I thought my birthday, October 15, was going to be like any other birthday. And it was in the beginning. We got a babysitter, went out to a nice restaurant, and had a great time talking and laughing. When we got home I didnt want to go inside yet so we went for a walk in the park. We got to talking about when we were kids and how we started dating. By the time we got to talking about my pregnancy and my saggy remark, I had sat down on a bench but Jacob was standing in front of me. It was then that he got down on one knee, and pulled out the most beautiful ring I ever saw, and asked me in a straight face, "Kristina, will you do me the honor of growing saggy with me?" I dont know whether I was crying tears of joy or if I was crying because I was laughing so hard. Either way my answer this time was HELL YEA!!!!!
Sorry it was such a long story lol
But I figured you wouldnt be able to understand what really happened without our history :)
