Well.....It seems like yesterday. Our 4 year anniversary was coming up on August 1st so he told me that he didnt have a lot of money but he would like to take me to dinner on the saturday August 4th. My mother had been talking about visiting me all summer but she never actually planned anything concrete. So out of the blue she tells me that her and two of my nieces and nephews are coming to visit me 2 days before they are coming. The friday before I will admit I was a big b-word all day because he had been out all day and he kept making excuses why it was taking him so long. (little did I know he was finishing up all the proposal details. On Saturday my mother was making a big fuss about my hair and what I was going to wear on our date later that night. While this should have tipped me off it didnt because that is how my mother always is. She insisted on doing my hair and I had to try on different dresses to wear for our date. I was under the impression we were going to eat at WaterWorks. He made a couple of stops befoe and I kept fussing we were going to miss our reservation but he said it would be fine. When we got there he missed the turn into the parking but he said it was ok we would just park somewhere else. We got out the car and walked hand and hand and when we got in front of the rocky step he gave me a quick kiss and said I will meet you up top. Still I knew nothing, now mind you it is about 95 degrees outside and I had on hills. So I said to myself I am not running up nobodys steps, so I calmly walked up the steps. When I was about 10 steps up from the top I saw a huge crowd of people, but I could not recognize anyone yet. When I was almost there I saw one of my aunt's and I started balling. In front of 30 friends, and family that I had no idea were in town, and my Mommy he got on his knee and proposed. He even surprised me with our engagement party that same night. It was one of the best days of my life, I could not have dreamed of anything that perfect.
