I'm really new here but I saw everyone's stories and had to add mine because it was perfect. :)
J and I have a 'Date Night' policy, we make sure we go out on a 'date' at least once every couple of weeks. Anyway, J turned round to me and said that he was taking me out on Friday night. I'm usually the one who organises the nights out so I was quite surprised, I mentioned it to the Girls at work and they all started teasing me, saying that he was going to propose, but we'd been together for so long I just laughed it off.
Anyway, we went to a really lovely Resturant, we were served our starters and they were lovely, the Server cleared our plates away and J put a Tiffany's bag on the table...I could bearly breathe and it seemed to take me hours to take the blue box out of the bag, undo the ribbon and take out the jewellery box from inside...and then the Server's arrived with our main meal and J took the box off the table!! I couldn't believe it!
I spent the entire meal (of which I had 2 bites by the way!) panicking that the box was going to contain earrings and I was going to look like the most selfish G/F on the planet because I knew I was going to burst into tears with disapointment!
After J'd chomped his way cheerfully through his meal our plates were cleared and I finally got to open the box, which did contain an engagement ring. I cried for 20 mins solid and I've NEVER been happier. It was incredible, funny, quirky and exactly what I'd have wished for, for two people who got together on April Fool's Day!
