media affects on children

for those of you who have or are planning to have children, how to you plan to deal with the messages the media gives them about who they are meant to be, what they are meant to look like, etc?

We are definitely going to limit TV watching. No TVs in their rooms for sure, we have to be able to monitor what they watch. No computers with internet in their rooms either when that time comes. Who knows what the world looks like when I have kids and their 12-13, but I'm going to do my best to keep them from that and have them remain KIDS!
