I bought my mom a small boom box stereo, she told my sister thats what she wanted.

I'm not sure what I want to get Paul's mom.

I know she'd like to have an outside swing but they are so expensive.

Any other suggestions, I hate giving flowers or stuff like that, useless stuff.

Well instead of buyig her the swing, get her a GC for a store that sells the swing and write a note that says "To be used towards the one thing you always wanted" and put a photo of a swing.

Thats a good idea!

We (DH, SIL, & I) are going to church with MIL and then taking her out to lunch for Mother's Day.

We're taking Nick's Mom to the local baseball game here that day.... She has been saying she wanted to go for a long time.. And they do a ticket, drink and hot dog deal for like $10 a person.

GC's are the best gift ever - I have to work so it's up to Paul and Mack to take care of MIL :D

I have to work too so we're giving them to them today. Paul thinks the swing is a great idea. We're probably going to get the one from Lowes (http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=productDetail&productId=214714-19407-SS-909E-1&lpage=none). It only $74, which isn't too bad.

Are you getting gifts for your MIL or FMIL? I decided that I wouldn't (again!) this year because she's not really my mom and I can leave that up to son-to-be-hubby... but I have a feeling that it might not be the greatest thing to just ignore it.

Its for my MIL, who I love...she's so the older version of my Mom. Well, since I have to work Sunday and knew I wouldn't feel up to visiting everyone then, we ended up buying her the swing and taking it to her last night....SHE LOVED IT!!!! Wanted my Hubby to put it together for her right then but we had to get home so I could get ready for work. I'm so glad we got it for her, she said she had been looking into getting one. I was so glad we went over there, because of the stuff we discussed. I'll put all of that in my life journal.

Funny thing about May 11 is not only is it mother's day but it's also my mom and my sister's birthday (it was also my due date). So i have to buy a lot of presents for one day!
I got my mom this big picture frame from Kirklands that says Grandkids and I'm gonna put cute pics of all the grandchildren. I guess that is more for her birthday. I am just sending cards for Mother's day because I'm broke. I don't think anyone will mind because I guess that's to be expected with a new baby.

Does anyone else have the problem of too many moms? Just the cards alone end up costing like $25 dollars because I have to buy one for DH's mom and step-mom, his grandma and aunt who helped raise him, my mom and step-mom and my sis and SIL. Holy cow!
