We did a letter too. I just need to print it onto pretty paper!
Hello Everyone
Christmas is already here. This year flew by so fast. A lot has happened this year for us, between the wedding, me changing jobs, and Serena keeping us busy.
Serena was screened for pre-k in April for the 2005 school year. She refused to do anything so they scheduled to re-screen in August right before the school year would begin.
In May, I changed jobs and started working for a different law firm, Hinshaw and Culbertson, in downtown St. Louis. They have excellent benefits and really treat their employees well. I love it there.
Serena took swimming lessons at the Breese Pool for a week over the summer. She is starting to warm up to her instructor so hopefully Aften will be there next year too.
The summer was spent with my mom, sister, and my other bridesmaids trying to trick me as to when my real bridal shower was. So I got to walk into my mom’s, the winery, a hair salon, and taken to Wal-Mart parking lot blindfolded. Yeah---that afforded some looks, but it worked. Because when I was blindfolded for my real shower at Tanya’s church I had no clue. Since everyone was so calm the week before when I had surgery, I did not expect anything. The shower was great. It was nice to see everyone there.
Serena was re-screened in August and did a little bit better with the screening. The pre-k teacher said that thought that she was qualified to go (it’s a state program through the public school so they only take you if you need it and then fill the spots from there). Her qualification was based on her refusing to do stuff that we know she can do because she does it at daycare and at home (hopping on one foot, jumping, etc.) and that she could not say one letter that she should be able to say at her age, L. If she started this year, that would be two years of pre-k before starting kindergarten because of her late birthday, so we decided to wait and re-screen her for the 2006 school year.
In September, Serena got to go to her first Disney on Ice show. My work had tickets for the club suite so Serena, my mom and I went to the show. Serena loved it! Her favorite is Ariel now.
October was a busy month for us with all of the last minute planning. Finally, the wedding gets here and it was great. Probably been a little bit better, had I actually smiled in church but I was so nervous. We enjoyed seeing everyone. We had a beautiful day and it was a beautiful wedding. We spent two nights at the bed and breakfast in Breese and enjoyed. Yes, it was close to home but we both were interested in the place and figured when would we have another reason to stay there? Probably never! Serena stayed with my mom and went trick-or-treating with Uncle Travis and grandma. Serena was a witch. A cute one, I might add.
In November I went on a fun shopping trip with my mom, sister and grandma. We enjoyed it so much; we are planning for the next one. In November, Serena also had her first movie theater experience. We saw Chicken Little and she loved it. She behaved very well too.
We spent Thanksgiving with Ryan’s family and then with my family, and drove to my dad’s house the following day. That was a busy weekend. We celebrated Serena’s birthday and Christmas with them. So she spent the weekend opening presents.
Now its December so we are planning for Serena’s 4th birthday on the 9th and then we have Christmas and the New Year. Wow time has gone by so quick.
We hope everyone has had a good year and has a wonderful holiday! We love you all.
Love,
Ryan, Pamela and Serena Voss
