This has probably been asked a hundred million times, but I'm still stuggling with it.
Our anniversary is coming up FAST (16 days), and I'm not sure what to get DH!
The best thing I could come up with was a "message in a bottle" idea, where I basically write a love note, roll it up and stick it in a bottle. We make our own beer, so I'm going to use an empty beer bottle and cap it. I also thought I'd make a custom label for it and just glue it on to the bottle.
As much as I like that idea, it seems a bit.... I dunno, just off. Like it's not so much a gift as it is a trinket.
(We are also going to go to where we had our ceremony and sort of re-live that special moment and we'll probably go out for supper as well.)
I dunno. Any other suggestions? From ladies who've been married more than a year - What did you get your husband and how did he react?
TIA,
Melissa

I really don't know what to say to help you out I'm sorry!
For our first anniversary I got my husband this huge golf package at an expensive golf course just outside the city we live in. The package came in a booklet form (like coupons almost) so it went along with the whole traditional "paper" theme. He LOVED it, he's obsessed with golfing!

I like your ideas.
We didn't buy each other any thing since we did our renewal ceremony in Vegas.
I am trying to figuere out if I should get him anything for our 2nd Anniversary since we are going to Atlantic City the weekend after. We have been talking about just going out to dinner for our anniversary.

We are not exchanging gifts since we are going away for the weekend. But maybe I'll get him some post its.
In all seriousness, I think your idea is cute.

For our firsr anniversary, we went on a trip to Las Vegas. I got him a card...which was on paper.

We decided to buy stock. So we've been working with his dad as we can't decide on what we want to buy it in. But this was more of a mutual gift that is for our future. Other wise I got him a card and he got me flowers.

Ashley - love it! Unfortunately, with my cycle, if we're going to conceive this month, it'll be about a week before our anniversary. LOL
I guess I'm feeling really silly basically giving him nothing, but I guess we *are* going to go back to where we had our ceremony (which involves tickets printed on paper), and going out for lunch (maybe I can get paper plates?) and we do have a piece of our wedding cake to eat as well.
Really, I guess it's more about the event than the gift, I just feel kinda lost cause I've never had an anniversary before so it seems like there should be a big obvious gift associated with it, but I can't seem to come up with one.
Thanks,
Melissa

We are going to Italy for our one year anniversary. We will be on the plane all day. We fly out the day of our anniversary. I am going to bring our cake top on the plane with us, but other than that I have no idea what to get him. I might just get him a card since we are going on the trip. It is very hard to think of somehing. Does he have any other hobbies besides making beer at home?
