Did you put an engagement announcement in the newspaper? Did you include a photo? Share them here!

We never got professional engagement photos, so we just sent in this one. It was taken at a friends wedding.

We didn't put an engagement pic in but we did have 2 sets taken. We sent them out in christmas cards to family. We did put in a wedding annoucement and picture.

We meant to put an engagement announcement in the paper, but we never got around to it! We'll definitely put a marriage one in though. We didn't have professional engagement shots taken, but I consider this picture to be "our engagement photo." It was taken the day we were engaged.

Ours wasn't in until October, and we got married in November. haha
(We procrastinate sometimes).
THOUGH, around here it is more popular to put it in the paper closer to the wedding! I don't know about where you live though!

I sent them to the papers, but they haven't been printed yet :( We just got our pics taken at Sears. No big whoop.

We haven't put anything in the papers yet, and we got engaged in November last year. We will probably do it soon, we need to get a good pic of us first!

I heard that its more acceptable to do it closer to the wedding date anyway.

Once we got engaged we thought it would be a nice idea to get a notice made. I have heard of people putting it in the news paper. But I thought of the idea of sending out notices to friends and family. We did not go anywhere to get our photo done. We just took the photo that we liked best and used that. We then took apart of a song we had written added it to the top inside of the card and then added the date and our names to the bottom.

We didn't have a photo, but we put this announcement (for free!!) in our very small town of 100 people's newsletter. And b/c of that we made the bigger town's newspaper as well under the heading of our town's news

We took engagement photos, but we never put them in the paper because we were not planning our wedding right away. We still might send our picture to the newspaper before the wedding, to announce our wedding, or we might wait until after the wedding & send in one of our wedding pictures.

We have our engagement photos set to be taken this october.. 3 months from tomorrow! I am SO pumped! Can't wait to see how they turn out.

I must add that this picture isn't even one of our engagement pictures taken by a photographer. This was a picture that my mom took when we were getting close to the wire . . .wedding coming up. Reason being: our e-pics SUCKED. . .which is the reason that we changed photographers! BLAH :rolleyes:
