after changing it several times we pick browns with red/orange/yellow flowers because of the time of year and i like neutral colors (brown) and so does ryan. but i wnated some color so that's where the bright flowers come in.

Well, don't mob me here please! But I started with a what colors I hate at weddings (black -too depressing and funeral-ly; red - too hookerish; dark, drabs too depressing; white - I am the bride!) and went from there. We actually selected our bridesmaid dresses before we ahd any colors and went from the selection there - ended up with joyberry (kind of a wine shade). Then for the second color, FH and best man picked it at the tux shop. So we went through 6 months of planning wihtout any colors at all.

Isn't it amazing how you go into this wanting a certain dress or color and try or see different things and your mind changes quickly.

Mistylark-You won't get mobbed. It was an opinion question pretty much and that's what you gave. I know and I am sure everyone else knows that you were not directly calling anyone depressing or a hooker for that matter, that's just what the colors remind you of. :) it's all good. :p

i have been to great beautiful weddings wehre they used black and red and I was reconsidering my view. But when it came to my own wedding the old view came back.

I really didn't mean hooker! You know that song Roxanne.... and red light district.

Ha! I'm so glad you all are so kind!

Originally I wanted purple and silver because I knew we were going to have a summer wedding. Then I started looking around at dresses and stuff and I realized that I want a red wedding. I love the color red and I have for years. In most Asian cultures it means "luck." FH doesn't really care either way but I know he is glad that we are going with red. When we were out in Seattle over memorial day weekend we saw a wedding party taking pictures. The bridesmaids were wearing bright orange dresses and FH just about died! He told me that I better not think of doing anything like that. Not a chance. I love red. It is my color.

we were going to do burnt orange but there was a chance my sister was going to try to start to conceive and my fi kept making jokes that if she was pg and showing we would have a pumpkin walking down the aisle. so i nixed it. plus it was just toooooooooooo drastic for this area.

well, i am the youngest of 4 girls- 3 step-sisters...therefor the last to get married and I'm all about NOT doing what anyone else did, so sister2 had lilac, sister1 had burgandy, and sister3 had baby blue (my favorite color) with colors I have left, had to go with pink, my 2nd favorite color, with some touches of brown
sister1 has a daughter my age- i know, weird...but she is getting married in 2007 and she's really running out of choices, i think she is thinking aqua

We are doing pink and silver. Originally I wanted black and white, my mom and FH talked me out of it b/c it is a spring wedding so pastels might be the order of the day. My bridesmaids actually picked the colour. We were all sitting around with my mom, fmil and decided they wanted pink! I absolutely love pink so I am very okay with that.

I'm going with red for the BM dresses, and will try to incorporate some orange into the flowers and reception decor (including pumpkins.) I picked my colors because I'm going with a fall theme for my October wedding.

During my wedding preps last year, i picked up atheme first..that's a beach themed wedding. then from there..i picked up our motiff which should go with the theme which is turquoise blue which goes well with a touch of soft pink. Lovely! Choose first your theme..Hawaiian..butterfly, angels, tropical..etc. then relate everything w/ the theme you chose til the invites, gowns, flower arrangements..everything. ideas would come out naturally once you started. Happy preps, everyone!

We are getting married in October… so we kinda had to go with a Fall theme. I choose Claret (burgundy) for our color.

If I had to go over again the bridesmaids dresses would be navy blue.

Ours are Burgundy and Ivory (translated to Wine and Cream because FH is a stickler for original names). Anywho, we like the elegant look of those two shades together. My dress is Ivory and the Flowergirls will wear Ivory as well. The BMs/MOH are in European Wine.

Here are the bridesmaid’s dresses. They are by Alford Angelo. They will be in Claret (burgundy).

Lavender - Because my FH birthstone is amethyst and I love it so I decided early on we would go with that. Also happens to be one of the colors on my dress.

Blue (light) - one of the colors on my dress that I picked. Thought they went well together.

DH really likes pink (he says it's the manliest color--whatever!), but I'm not a pink fan. I wanted something soft since bold colors aren't really my style. We finally compromised on lavender and white.

It took me a very long time to come up with my colours. I'd always pictured my wedding colours and BMs in light blue or lilac. My theme is daisies and I just couldn't find a way to mix light blue and lilac with daisies. So after much thought, I came up with light green (what the girls are wearing), yellow (most of the flowers and accent colours), and ivory (everything else).

for m wedding i wanted peach originally. but at the time there was a serious lack of BM gowns that were peach and not looking like something out of the wedding singer.

so i switched to my fave color of royal blue.

for my renewal still blue but obiously lighter.

and as for the accent color silver was the best choice. I had red flowers due to budget.

for the renewal it's all thing i want!!!

it's just amazing.

FH & I chose our colours pretty much the weekend after he proposed and it was an easy choice. When FH proposed to me, he went out and bought beautiful pieces of material, which he draped all around my bedroom for decoration. One of those pieces of material was a deep midnight blue satin with silver flowers embroidered on it. The colour combination was so stunning, and the material looked beautiful, that when we started talking about choosing colours, we took 1 look at it and decided that those would be our colours.

Since our wedding is in the fall and there are so many color associated with it, I really don't have a specific color(s). Our wedding is just fall colors. The bridesmaids dresses are champagne with a latte colored sash around the middle. I plan on having them carry bright colored Gerber Daisies to add a splash of color here and there.
