Since you are so comfortable with your hair up, but you want the shock factor of it being down, why don't you pull the front up out of your face and let the rest be down in nice loose curls. Just an idea!

well, for down you can have it curly or straight, the front pinned back or not, parted at a different place, and possibly stuff in your hair like flowers or a tiara. Are you wanting a more modern, classic diva, or romantic look? What kind of flowers do you have? What kind of jewelry did you buy? and what's your dress again?

YES, the half up and half down thing. . you could always try it, since this is your hair trial. . .and if you don't like it, do it a different way.

I think after seeing this pic I'll have to return my veil and get this cute headband thing that I saw that had flowers and in the middle of the flowers were turquoise jewels (one of my 2 colours!)

I think this one will look great! I like the ones with softer curls, not so much hair sprayed curling iron spirals. And you said your hair is really long, they may be able to pin it up so it hangs down to whatever length you want in the back. I'd love to do my hair like that, but I can't handle the idea of it being ruined and annoying during our outdoor photoshoot before the ceremony (Louisville has a equal chance of be about 80 with super humidity or raining that day and that would ruin it!)

Our wedding is outside too.. My hair is super long and curly.. Maybe I'll just get it cut that would be nice my hair gives me headaches!!! I take it you'll be wearing your hair up then? lol

Ask your hairdresser to thin it out a bit if it is giving you headaches, it will definately help!

My hairs down to mid back, just a few inches above my waist. It's starting to drive me nuts, I think I'm going to go get it cut next week to some long layers- I haven't ever had layers in it, but it'd be a real change to have a hair style, not just a hair cut! I'm definitely wearing it up, or more accurately back. I'm going for something like this, but with a real red rose instead of the white one

depends on the salon - most charge seperately, others sell bridal package deals that often include both and other services like mak-up, massages, etc. as well.
