Hey Everyone!
Exciting news! The manager from post-partum at my hospital just left me a voicemail message last night asking if I was still interesting in Full-time night shift in post-partum in maternity and she wants me to come in for an interview! I called her back and left a message that I am still very interested. I am waiting for a call back. As most of you know, I am working on a med-surg floor for right now and HATE IT! My passion has always been with labouring mothers and their newborns. The only catch is....my manager may not let me switch floors because of "courtesy" 6mos-1 year commitment on the floor which I am currently on. Nothing was written on paper so I don't think it should apply. There was a maternity position that opened up 2 DAYS into my training shifts and my manager did not let me change floors, despite knowing that my long-term goal and passion is Maternity. Hopefully she will let me go this time...since it's been over 4.5 months! I'll let you know how it goes!
