I'm a bit of a wus and so only have my ears pierced (boring I know!) I can't even think about having anything else done...too much pain :eek: !!! Same for tatoos....what about everyone else?

lets see, i have my ears pierced, 3 in each ear and one cartalidge (SP?). when i was 16 i got my belly button pierced. 18, got a tattoo of tinkerbell on my lower back. 20, my tongue pierced, took that out right before we got engaged, my new job required me to talk on the phone all day, and it was hurting...my belly button got infected not too long after i got it, since then i really forget its even there! my tattoo hurt the first day and now i forget that's there too, especially since I can't see it unless i look in the mirror. my tongue was extremely swollen for the first couple of days- good way to lose weight, all i had for the first 3-4 days was slim-fast shakes. After that, i had a speach disorder for a few weeks, until i re-learned to pronounce "L" & "R"

i have one hole in each ear, my tounge and my belly button...i want a tattoo but i just havent got one yet....when i got my tounge pierced-8 years ago-it did not hurt at all (i guess i am just weird) but my belly button hurt a little because the lady that did it messed up and pulled the needle out too early and didnt have the ring in yet

the lady that did my tongue was a moron and did it as slow as humanly possible- just stab it through!! so my mouth hurt just from her holding my tongue out for like 5 minutes with the clamp!

I have 5 holes in one ear and three in the other...I want another in my ear but FH doesn't want me to get anymore and I will never get a tatoos bc I am afraid of needles and they are just to permanent.

LOL! And I couldn't blow a proper bubble until maybe a year after because the area around the hole in the tongue stays hard for about that long. Yeah it took a while to heal too. Now, I can't live without it.

i wouldn't even chew gum, i had the plastic balls and the gum always got stuck to it!

Nothing has ever gotten infected and I had no problems with my toungue ring as well. I mean, my tongue swelled for a few days, but everyone was always amazed that I never had any speech problems!

I am one of "those" too. . . I have ONE hole in each ear, and that is all I have done and will do. The rest is too permanent for me. ESPECIALLY those darned tattoos!!!!!!!! Though FH has both his ears pierced, with one up top in his left ear, his nipple pierced and he has four tattoos.

You can still donate blood after you have a tattoo. . .FH donates blood every time that he can and he has four of them.

my belly was infected for over a year until they changed the ring...who knew you could be allergic to titanium.....once they changed it to sliver it cleared up in 4 days.....it was so wierd....
my HUSBAND tehe.... has one on his shoulder (back) with his birth year, his fathers and his grandfathers....they all shared the same name and when we have a boy his birth year will go there too.

I have both ears pierced twice, but never wear earrings.
I have one tattoo on my back - almost on my side. It is a gecko. I got it in Aug. 98 - it was a going away to college gift.
My tongue is pierced and has been since St. Pat's Day '99 -also a gift. Mine did not hurt. I swished with Listerene, then they pierced it. (the tattoo guy was cracking me up! he kept saying all women should have a tongue as long as mine)

I used to have my eyebrow pierced. I had trouble with it when I switched from a hoop to a barbell and after 2 years gave up. I still have a scar there.

FH's sister had her lip pierced, and she still has a hole there, and she has had it out for 6 years. . .she definitely regrets that one.

I don't regret it at all. I think it will help me remember the silly & fun things I did as a kid. So when I am getting ready to lay into one of my kids for osmehting dumb, I'll remeber I did it all!

I have my ears pierced (my valentine's day present from my parents when I was 7 :p ), my cartilage (done when I was 12...my mom held my had and we had it done at Claire's!), and my belly button (at Venice Beach on my trip down south the week after I turned 18). My best friend has a tattoo that she got when she turned 18 and I wanted to get one too but thank goodness I'm 5 months younger than her so by the time my b-day rolled around I was over it ;) . FH doesn't want me to ever get a tattoo and he recently told me (after I had my belly ring out for 2 days) that although it was sorta cool, he likes my belly without it...hmmmm. I'm not gonna keep it out though because I waited 9 months for the damn thing to heal and I like it!

I have 7 earrings in one ear & 8 in another (one got infected & healed over & I never re-punched it) I had 2 in the top part of my ear but they kept getting caught on my hair so I let them heal over. I have my tongue, labret, eyebrow & nipple pierced. I got my tongue done first about 10 years ago & I got my nipple done in a tent at the Woodstock '99 concert in Rome NY.

I have 3 tats, my first was about 9 years ago & is a tribal lizard on my belly/side/hip, my second was the green dragon I got done at the end of March in Beijing, China & Freddy & I just got matching Buddhist eternity knots on our wrists instead of an engagement ring.
I made a comment to our tattoo artist about how I liked tattoos better than diamonds & he said he prefers tattoos of diamonds! Freddy's knot is larger than mine & is on the inside of his lower left arm & mine is on the inside of my left wrist.
I have pics of our knots & my dragon but I don't know how to post them.

I have the designs for a backpiece but I'm not getting it started until after Christmas, cause we won't have much $$ left after the wedding & honeymoon!

The only piercing I had that hurt was my nipple & it was only for a minute or two & when I got my tongue done I drooled like an animal! My tattoos only stung when they went over bony places like the tendon at the back of my ankle, my ankle bone, hip bone & the veiny spot on my wrist. While they were healing they just felt like a sunburn but were pretty itchy!

I have two tattoos, but my ears are the only thing I've pierced--one on each ear. My first tattoo is a vine with small flowers around my right ankle. The second one is a teddybear angel that came out much more evil-looking than I wanted it to (the tattoo artist did it freehand and much different than the original drawing he showed me!). I'm thinking about having it removed when we can afford it.

Same for me, except my ears have actually closed up. I once let a friend re-pierce them ... so on the left side, I have one front hole that takes two different paths to the back! OW!

I have 4 piercings on my left ear and 3 on my right. I also have my nose and belly button pierced. I got my piercing when I was 1!! I got my 2nd and 3rd on my ear when I was 12. I got my cartilage pierced when I was 14. I got my nose pierced couple months before I turned 16. I got my belly button pierced when I was 16. I never told my parents about my belly button until the summer when I was in Europe and they saw pictures of my belly button pierced.

I have 5 tattoos. One is on my lower back and it is the triquetra. I got this one when I was 17 and I hid it from my parents until they discovered it. One is on my upper right shoulder and it is love in chinese. I got this one when I was 19. One is on my wrist and it is my sign- the libra. My best friend and I got this one together except hers is Sagittarius. One is on my left ankle and it is a heart with a rose around it and inside it has a date . I got this one for my best friend who died in a car accident, its the date of her death. One is on my right shin and it is a fairy. My best friend and I have this tattoo, we got it together.

haha I am curious for those who have lots of ear piercings, did you take them out wedding day or do you plan to? I have 7 in one ear and 6 in the other- lucky #13 total. I wanted to get diamond studs (I'll hit up Claire's when they have a BOGO sale or get a 9-pair pack) for the top 11 and maybe dangles for the bottom hole. I only ever wear studs in all of them, but usually different colored ones. what do you guys think of this idea?

I have two tattoos - the Chinese symbol for "love" on my right ankle, and a small elephant on my lower back, left-hand side (with its trunk raised for good luck).

I have a piercing in each ear and a tattoo on my lower back. Before I had the tattoo done a few of my friends were like "oh it's gonna hurt", etc. I kid you now I didn't feel a thing. I alughed my @ss off teh entire time. I think the tattoo guy thought I was drunk, but nope I wasn't, that didn't happen until later. :) I want one more tattoo but John is against tattoos. He thinks they're hideous. I told him to get over it b/c I'm getting one more. Either on the back of my shoulder or my bikini line. Prolly of a pig. Oink oink!! :)

I had my belly button done twice. The first time my body just pushed the piercing out. I was just able to pull ti right through w/o undoing it b/c the hole was just a scab, not a skin (so to speak) and the second time it was so badly infected I had to have my roommate take it out. I couldn't even touch it w/o screaming or crying. Now I'm left with a nasty scar. Not pretty when you're wearing a bikini. :(

Thanks, Steve wasn't crazy about it, but they are my trademark. Besides my ears are sensitive and taking them out for one day would close the cartilidge ones. I think what FH doesn't know won't hurt him, he'll forget by then.

I have my ears pierced, once in each ear and I had a belly button piercing that I retired. I have one tattoo, it's on my lower back and it's the kanji symbol for "love" with a design around it. James my FH has the same tattoo (just the love symbol, not the design) on his upper back a few inches under his neck.

I have both of my ears pierced, my tounge pierced and my lip pierced. I used to have a Monroe piercing, but that got taken out three days after it was pierced because the barbell was too thick, stretched out my skin and my skin healed over the jewelry while it was stuck inside my lip/cheek. I had to go to the ER to get it taken out. It didn't hurt and I have a tiny tiny scar that you can't even notice unless you are up close and I point it out. It wasn't the piercers fault, my skin is just really stretchy. My Mother is the same way. I can pull my earrings right through my ear hole, and it won't even hurt.

I have 5 tattoos. 1 ladybug behind behind my right ear which I got with a cousin of mine. A Day of the Dead Sugar skull on my right arm. On the inside of my left forearm I have a Scared heart with a dagger going through it, with a sparrow and some flowers around it. On the outer part of my forearm I have A Cartoonish pin-up girl and on the outer part of my left wrist I have and black and red nautical star for good luck. I plan to get many many more. I actually wanted to become a tattoo artist once. I am very much into the lifestyle.

FH has two tattoos. One is on the back of his right calf, it is this crazy looking clown. Almost an Evil clown. Which is funny because himself nor I like clowns. They are scary. And on his right arm he has Jack Skellington from Nightmare Before Christmas. FH is a big fan. He also plans on getting many more tattoos.

None of my Tattoos or piercings hurt. When it comes to pain, that really depends on the person and what kind of threshold they have for pain. I kinda like it. Naughty me...:p

NEVER EVER get anything pierced with a gun. It is one of THE worst things you can do. ALWAYS go to a reputable tattoo/piercing shop (one that is known for LICENCED PROFESSIONAL piercers, good work, healthy piercings & a very sterile and clean environment). Needle actually cuts away a tiny portion of your ear. Thus making healing faster, less scarring, less likely to bleed or get infected. The gun PUSHES the post of the actual earring through your ear which pushes skin and bacteria into your ear. and hurts a lot more. Just think of it like this... what happens to a piece of paper if you push a pencil through the middle of it? You have all those "flared" bits of paper poking out... same thing with a gun... all of those "flared" pieces go into the hole and can cause some SERIOUS damage.

That is a very good call. I don't remember getting my ears pierced, but when I got my belly button pierced, they used a needle and a clamp or something. But definitely not a gun. And it really didn't hurt, just felt pressure from the clamp. I never thought about it, but what you said makes sense. Not sure I'll be getting any more piercings, but if I do... now I know! :)

No the stretching doesn't hurt, not if you do it properly.. You do it slowly gradually over time.

I've got my ears double pierced, used to have my upper left pierced, but it hurt too much, and 2 years ago I got my belly pierced.

I really want to get 1 or 2 tats. I would like to have a butterfly and one triqueta knot. I'm not sure which one, but I want one on my lower back and not sure where I want the other one.
