Kind of a gross/weird question but it has me perplexed

About 2 months ago or so, maybe a little less, me and Cailin were playing and all of a sudden she grabbed my right ear and pulled really hard on it. A few days later I noticed the crevice behind my ear (where the ear and my head meet) started getting irritated and crusty. I didn't think anything of it so I kind of just rubbed it off and forgot about it. Well about 2 weeks later, I noticed that it had spread and is now almost all the way around the back of my ear. It's also on the back of my earlobe. I wash it everyday hoping that it would get better but it hasn't, so I went and got some peroxide and have been dabbing it but it seems like I do that, then it crusts back over.

It's pretty gross, but more weird than anything. You can't see it but I know it's there. It's also red and it doesn't hurt unless I touch it. What could it be?

It could be dry. And by constantly washing it and using peroxide is drying it out more. Does it smell? If so, it's an infection. But try not to rub or touch it as much and maybe lay off the cleaning and peroxide. If it does start to smell or gets worse, def. go to the doc.

I agree with it maybe drying out from that stuff. Have you asked your doctor about it before?

Have you tried putting polysporin on it?

Well I was only using peroxide because if it was infected I figure it would draw the infection out. I think it might be slightly infected though because it has this odor to it but it's not strong at all.

Never heard of polysporin, is it the same thing as neosporin? I think I may try that.

I've had neosporin on it now for the last 2 days and it seems to be getting better.

Thanks ladies!
