Laundry detergent, body wash, shampoo, jeans, sheets, etc is all the same....

Erica, what is your stress breakout like? I haven't gotten anything on my face either, just scattered small red bumps across my body, but mostly on arms and legs.

Also, u may need to change ur detergent, lotions, shampoos, etc... U may not have been allergic to it before, but u may be now. If ur stressed, it makes ur body weaker and more prone to infections, etc... and therefore, ur body will breakout from things it never did before.

Sorry I'm a little late, but stress can cause you to break out in hives. If you have any antihistamines, try one and see if it helps. That sounds like what it is.

I googled hives to see what it looks like and that isn't what it looks like. Something else I just thought of today that was "new" recently: getting fitted for the diaphragm on Monday. I've never been allergic to anything before, but I may be allergic to that.

Also, this morning I felt a painful lump behind my left ear, which most people think is a swollen lymph node which could indicate infection.

I called my women's doctor here, but she doesn't work on Fridays. BUT I called the University Health Services Clinic and found out a doctor visit is only $16, even if you don't have health insurance. Of course, I would have to pay for any tests or medications, but I can charge it to Bursar and pay it next month. I think I will go to the clinic this afternoon and see a doctor.

Thanks. It's really probably no huge deal, but I hate not knowing what it going on with my body. I'll post what the doc says after I get home tonight.

Welp, I guess it was an allergic reaction to a mysterious something. The doc was pretty sure is was a contact related allergy, but since I haven't had anything new, I'm not sure what triggered it. Anyway, I got a cortisone shot in the butt and will be taking zantac (sp?) to hopefully clear myself up. It's so weird this came about.... mysterious. I'm glad it was no big deal though.

Glad it was nothing major, but my advice is to still look at what ur wearing/using. Perfumes, lotions, detergent, etc. Make note of anything that makes something "weird" happen to ur body.
