Well, they can't come because they can't afford to. And even if they were to suddenly fall into a pile of money right before the wedding it would be too late anyway because they would not have passports and thus wouldn't be allowed into the country.

Since it takes a minimum of 6 months to get a passport in Canada right now and the wedding is about 7 months away, I'm fairly certain that my 2 best friends (and their husbands / kids) and my mom won't be coming.

Oh well. Worse things could happen, I guess. (For instance, my quilting buddies could make good on yesterday's proposal that they sing as I come down the aisle!)

I think the christmas in July idea is fantastic - and now is the time to start looking for deals - think of the sales after christmas you would find for decorations and everything.....
