I was so happy that we finally got our first dance song picked out...but now my joy has been turned into stress over the ceremony music
Here's my problem: we have no wedding party and the sanctuary we're getting married in is small. So basically, every song we think of turns out to be way too long
We're doing the unity candle thing, so our minister said people usually play music while the mothers light the candles and are seated before the service...but it'll take all of 1.5 minutes to escort them in, have them light the candles and sit them down.
It'll take no time at all for the minister and groom to take their places and will only take about a minute for me to walk down the aisle (no flower girls either).
So what the heck can we do?? My initial thought was to have one song play throughout all of this - but that leaves us with the problem of nobody knowing when I enter.
I don't want a lot of weird "nothing happening" time just so that a long song can complete. We've also thought of shortening long songs, and have one that would probably work for the candle lighting and groom/minister taking places. But I'm still clueless as to what song to play when I come in
I don't want the traditional "here comes the bride."
The minister will be talking while we do the unity candle thing, so we don't need music there. The only other place we'd need it is after everything's over for the recessional. And we have a couple ideas for that already.
Argghh...why does this have to be so hard?
