What If?

What if you don't have a Maid Of Honor?
What if your Matron isn't being very helpful throughout the planning process?
What if your bridesmaids are more excited about getting their dresses and attending the wedding (eating & drinking alcohol) than they are about helping you plan, plan your shower or plan your bachelorette party?????? wtf?

Toss the entire bridal party. You want people standing up there that support your decision and want to share in your day not just for free food and alcohol

get rid of them all. you don't need a bridal party - just a witness to sign the marriage certificate. they sound like jerks and i wouldn't want them in my wedding

-you dont necessarily need a maid of honour, just a witness
-get a new matron who supports you
-getting dresses and attending the reception is certainly very exciting, but if they arent supportive during the rest of the process then they dont deserve to be BMs

my friend had this exactly. she only had her sister as MOH and no other BMs. but her sister wasnt doing anything to help. didnt want to make plans, complained about dress ideas and everything really. cos im planning my own wedding i started helping this friend and she said i was the only one being supportive so she made me MOH and demoted her sister to BM.

do whatever you have to do to make your wedding day feel special - to feel supported and to have the help you need. even if it means changing BMs or having none. better no help, than unsupportive tag-alongs
