A bunch of people from Vancouver Canada and Poland and Oregon are all asking about our wedding date and details. They want to book off summer holidays, time off etc at work for next year. How early is too early to mail my Save the Dates? Over 50% of my guests are out of towners (myself included now since I now live in Portland, OR with Chad and the wedding is to take place in Vancouver BC Canada). Any ideas when I should send them out? We are officially at our 11-month mark as of yesterday.
You can mail them out as soon as you have all the info - date, time, hotel blocks ... if you've got all that, then go and send 'em out! When people start getting them, they get excited for your wedding, and then you get more excited too!
I agree with the girls. As long as you are 100% on the information you are providing, send them out It's not an "official" invitation, but more of a way for people to prepare --- and check out your website
Definitely send them out as soon as you can. That way everyone knows all the details way ahead of time so that they can plan their vacations/schedules around it.
I've heard that it is socially acceptable to send out STDs any time after you have a firm wedding date set. . . no *less* than 4 months before the wedding.
You should adjust the date forward if your wedding coincides with a major holiday or many people's vacations. I think an August 4 wedding date would fall into that category.
